Trafalgar Square 08 Challenge

The Challenge

What is this life, if full of care. We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand benearh the boughs. And stare as long as sheep and cows. No time to see, when woodes we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to turn at beauty's glance And watch her feet, how the dance. No time to wait until her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this is if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
— William Henry Davies

Over 20 members responded to the challenge where they had to consider William Henry Davies' poem (right) and transpose the essense of it into a panel of 3 photographs.

The follow-up meeting at the Grafton Hotel in Tottenham Court Road was very informative and successful. Participants had their panels on display, discussed what the liked about the exhibits and voted for their favourite resulting in Ray Higginbottom taking top honours for his brilliant interpretation of the poem.

The Ealing Group would like to thank Avril Harris for organising the exhibits and making sure that no favouritism took place, Quentin Ball for organising the venue and last but not least, everyone who participated and made this a success. We look forward to the next challenge.
